I think that using their Iphones in class is a great way for them to research and be able to find what they are looking for. My school has a strict policy on cell phone use, however our internet is down quite a bit so i do not see why students would not be allowed to use their phones being how some phones are stronger than a desktop computer now. I have a smart phone and there is very few things that i can do on that phone that i have to use a computer for. It has saved me a lot of time by replying to emails and answering messages from my phone instead of waiting for a computer.

The use of iphone in class is a good idea for your situation. Most students do have their personal cell and phone. If students need to access the internet for a class relate assignment and the school does not make it possible then student should be able to use their cellphones. There may be apps available that could be use in the classroom. Iphones or any android phones is excellent for internet use.

Alicia I know what you are talking about. Until this year my school had a very strict facebook policy. I guess someone at district got the message and they are letting us use facebook.
